Flying within the country is very expensive in Argentina so we decided to brave the 22 hour bus ride from Buenos Aires to San Martín. We chose the "tutto letto" seats, which recline completely, as if it were a small bed. They also served us champagne, whiskey (I declined, I can't stand the stuff), two meals, and tons of snacks. For a 22 hour bus ride, it really wasn't bad!

We saw the Lanin Volcano from the bus...my Dad climbed this last year and is planning on doing it again in a few weeks. Needless to say, I will not rest easy until he gets back.
We are staying at my Tía Ana's house since she is in Seattle. She has an adorable little yard where we had our first asado in San Martín.

San Martín is right on el Lago Lacar. You can hike up around the mountain where there are incredible views of the lake and the city below

We went to the Fiesta del Puestero in Junin de los Andes. There are tons of stalls set up where people sell anything from bras to saddles. Of course my Dad became best friends with one of the silversmiths, who invited us into his store to drink mate, which is like a tea that you drink out of a gourd.
