I got a call from my dad this afternoon, letting me know he had climbed the Lanin volcano and was safely back in San Martín. Sometimes it doesn't occur to him that people are worried sick, waiting to hear from him, so I was especially grateful for the call. I can only hope I am as brave and adventurous as him at age 60. If you know Don Carlos, drink a toast to his health!
