We went to the famous Cementerio de Recoleta the other day. I had never seen anything like it (I didn't do the whole visiting Jim Morrison's grave in Paris thing). Everything, even the plants, was covered in these lacey cobwebs. Very ethereal. I posted some photographs on el cĂrculo polar.

We also took a walk through the botanical gardens where we saw a profusion of wild cats. There is a group of old women who come to feed the cats twice a day. I desperately hope to become friends with them.

The other night we were CRAVING asian food so we went to this trendy little restaurant and had the spiciest pad thai I have ever had in my life. The menu warned that it was spicy, but we figured it was just by BsAs standards. Indeed, it was worthy of the three chili pepper icon on the menu. Delicious, though.

And here is Pete, enjoying a glass of moscato (moscatel, in Spain), a slice of fugazza, and some faina, which is a chickpea bread thing. I was under the impression that drinks like moscato were served in small amounts, given that they are an aperitif, but they gave Pete a veritable goblet of the stuff.

I loved your pics of the Recoleta cemetery! Did you see the giant gum tree? I wanted to dance in the roots!
oh my goodness, Kar, I am laughing so hard right now...is this some sort of tradition that I didn't know about?? I have a fabulous mental picture of you dancing in the roots of a gum tree...
Sooo ... BA looks pretty bitching. And I miss you two like crazy. How would you feel about a little Southern visitor in August when I finish taking the bar exam? Couldn't imagine anything better? That's what I thought.
